“My friends from the United
States”
Hello Friends! I’m Brazilian living in a small city in the South of this
great country called Brazil. In my city there was a
cinema, where since the 60’s I started attending and being fascinated by the
movies produced by Walt Disney: cartoons, adventures, comedies and
documentaries. It was also very common to see the Disney magazines read by
children and adults in all houses.
Since then, I became a big fan of Disney productions:
movies, books and magazines. Later, the television offered us the Disneyland
program being reproduced for about ten years. Until the 21-st century, Disney movies were often replayed
in cinema and television. Actually,
cinema, television and movies in DVD just present the castings. It’s
very difficult to get DVD with old movies produced at 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
Our Brazil became very consumerist, where value is
given only to mode (things of the moment). Today, the average conservator
public, admirer of the old productions and familiar to Disney, is about 20%.
I
would like to exchange ideas with American fans and other collectors to talk
about the importance of the old Disney movies in their childhood and their actual
lives. To remember, and to talk about those movies.
Best
regards!
Mr. Walt Disney
